Ramsey Clark is Defending Saddam

H/T to Jay over at Stop the ACLU for the good word early this morning. Too bad I’m a lazy ass, posting 13 hours after the fact. We (errr, I) should for sure be back into the swing of things by tomorrow around here.

Ramsey Clark, the guy that defended ole Slobodan Milosevic, AKA “Sloppy-Joe Missle-Bitch”, will be seated next to Saddam Hussein through the rest of his trial. That is, assuming he doesn’t get whacked, which wouldn’t be all bad. From the BBC:

Former US attorney general Ramsey Clark, an outspoken critic of the trial, was seated alongside the defence team.

Mr Clark, 77, who flew in from the Jordanian capital Amman on Sunday, said he wanted to protect Saddam Hussein’s rights.

“A fair trial in this case is absolutely imperative for historical truth,” he told Reuters news agency.

The left-wing activist, who held office in the 1960s under President Lyndon Johnson, has previously described the special tribunal as a creation of the US military occupation.

What the fuck Clark? Saddam murdered thousands of people, and you want to make sure his rights, of all peoples, aren’t violated. I think Ramsey Clark just qualified himself for the “Douche Bag of the Year – 2006” award. Clark shouldn’t be allowed back into the U.S. He’s a freakin “enemy combatant” as far as I can tell. Jay has some to add:

Mr. Clark doesn’t have that great of a success record, but he has a long history as an international lawyer practicing his favorite pastime, America bashing, and defending America’s enemies. In 1985, the former Chairman of the National Advisory Counsel of the ACLU, filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against his own country while defending Libya’s dictator, Qadaffi. In 1980, in the midst of the Iranian Hostage Crisis Ramsey flew to Tehran not to help the US hostages but to take part in a “Crimes in America” symposium.

Who the hell would sue their own country on behalf of another country? Stupid question I guess. The Washington Post has an article about Saddam’s defiance today. Other blogs on the subject:

Al-Qaida Claims Jordan Hotel Attack

Al-Qaida claimed responsibility lastnight for the suicide attack on the three Hotels in Amman, Jordan. The statement was posted on a website that “acts as a clearing house for statements by militant groups.” Here’s a little excerpt from the Al-Qaida statement.

A group of lions … have launched a new attack against some dens that were planted in the Muslim land in Amman. After studying and watching the targets, some places were chosen and they were made by the tyrant of Jordan as a backyard garden for the enemies of the religion – Jews and crusaders – and a filthy place for the traitors of this nation and a safe haven for the infidels’ Mukhabarat that run conspiracies against the Muslims and a center for prostitution.

Damn prostitution centers, the root of all evil in the world. Nevermind Al-Qaida’s prescense in the drug game around the world. Hypocrites. More can be read at the BBC. H/T JihadWatch.

Hotel Suicide Bombings in Jordan – UPDATED

Three hotels in Amman, Jordan were the target of suicide bombers today. 23 57 people are known to have died while 120 300 people were injured. The hotels were popular among Israeli and Western toursits.

AMMAN (Reuters) – At least 23 people were killed and scores wounded on Wednesday when three suspected suicide bombers blew themselves up in three hotels in Amman, a security source said.

Reuters correspondents said there had been explosions at the Radisson SAS and Grand Hyatt hotels in Amman and the official Petra news agency said there had been a third blast at the Days Inn hotel in the city.

“At least 23 people were killed in the three blasts and many wounded,” a security source told Reuters.

Jordan’s interior minister, Awni Yarfas, who was at the Radisson hotel, told reporters: “There were explosions in the Hyatt and the Radisson … Yes, they were bombs.”

Police threw up roadblocks around the hotels, causing traffic chaos in the city, and Reuters television footage showed a fleet of ambulances and fire vehicles outside the buildings.

The blasts appeared to happen at much the same time.

Supposedly, a wedding was taking place in a banquet hall inside one of the hotels. There was some speculation over wether or not the bombs were pre-planted or if this was the result of suicide bombers. It seems to be generally accepted now that it was suicide bombers.

Could this somehow be related to or in response to the Paris riots? Could be, but I doubt it. Proabably just more islamic crazies blowing stuff up for the sake of blowing stuff up. And to murder as many zionist pigs as possible, which is usually their goal. Note I said “usually”, not “always”. And I said “islamic crazies” rather than “all muslims”. You liberal european bloggers can stop calling me islamaphobic now.
